Vanmorgen 12 juni ben ik vertrokken uit Isfahan om door te rijden naar Yazd. Zodra je uit de hectiek van de stad Isfahan bent rijdt je vrijwel meteen in de woestijn. Dit is wel een heel bijzondere ervaring. Er loopt een redelijke weg naar Yazd maar links en rechts is alleen woestijn. Na een tijdje gereden te hebben moet ik even mijn benen streken en wat drinken. Ik sta nog niet stil of er stopt een auto, bijna de enige die ik tot nu toe gezien heb. Ik krijg een kopje thee van de bestuurder. Hij vraagt ook of ik wil eten. Ik bedank hem hartelijk maar hij blijft aandringen. Hij is teleurgesteld als ik zeg dat ik toch echt door moet. Ik drink mijn thee op en ben nog niet terug bij de motor of de man komt naar mij toe met een heel plat brood ( soort pannenkoek). Het is opgerold met iets ertussen. Ik weet niet wat het was maar heb het wel opgegeten. Het was erg lekker.
Aangekomen in Yazd, het is een hele oude stad, verbaas ik me weer over de schoonheid. Ik heb er rondgelopen en een hotelletje gezocht. Het werd een heel traditioneel hotelletje met de naam ” Ali Baba” . Ze hebben gelukkig airco want het is er inmiddels bloedheet. Ik heb er een gezellige avond gehad met 2 mensen uit polen en een stel uit Australië.
