Zondag 27 mei alweer. Ik ben nu 14 dagen onderweg. In de ochtend ben ik vanuit Rize vertrokken richting Sarpi, de grensovergang naar Georgie. Aangekomen bij de grens trof ik twee Belgische motorrijders, Kim en Caroline. Zij hadden dezelfde uitdaging en hetzelfde doel als ik. Ik ga door Iran maar zij rijden via Bakoe in Azerbeidzjan en nemen daar de boot naar Turkmenistan.
Voordat ik het land in mag moet ik aan de grens een verzekering afsluiten. Deze kost 20 larie wat omgerekend ongeveer 7 euro is. Toen ik daarvan terugkwam stond Iman bij onze motoren. Iman is een Iraniër en hij vertelde dat hij vanuit Iran een fietstocht had gemaakt door Turkije. Nadat we elkaars telefoonnummer hadden uitgewisseld en een aantal foto’s gemaakt hadden, ben ik samen met Kim en Caroline een stukje opgereden. Onderweg zijn we nog even gestopt voor een drankje en hebben we afscheid van elkaar genomen om ieder onze weg te vervolgen.
